The Blackhawks scored an embarrassing own goal in season-opener
The Chicago Blackhawks wrapped up their season-opener against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday accidentally putting a disc into his own net. Not good!
Of course, the 'Hawks were already down by two goals with a few seconds left in the game, meaning they were most likely going to lose anyway. However, whatever pride they had left was dashed when the brain-farted a dribble back into the net.
Perhaps making matters worse was the fact that the game involved three of their best players. Brent Seabrook tried to delete a pass back to Patrick Kane, who could not pull up the pace before the failed attempt to Duncan Keith to get a stick on it.

Ville Pokka hoping World Cup is a springboard to making Blackhawks roster
In the past few years, the Blackhawks defender Ville Pokka had Teuvo Teräväinen with him in training camp. Those were the only two Finnish players on their roster last fall, so they had to band together if any of the many Swedish players hawks "gave them grief.
"There's so many Swedes," said Teräväinen.
Hawks dealt Teräväinen the Hurricanes in June to dump salary to get Bryan Bickell contract on their books, meaning Pokka will have to live with what comes his way teasing himself.
Teräväinen and Pokka were reunited this week at the World Cup of Hockey, but Finland was eliminated on Thursday night in the preliminary round, they went their separate ways.

Huvudtränare Mike Babcock trodde känslor kanske har saknats i onsdagens avgörande om något kliniskt, vinna över Europa. Han trodde att hans lag var avslappnad ibland med pucken, även när outshooting européerna 46-20.
